Cable car trip to Monte

The cable car, located in the Old Town, connects Funchal to Monte in about 15 minutes. This trip offers a panoramic view over the bay of Funchal and the surrounding mountains of Monte.

Once there, you can visit the fantastic Monte Palace Tropical Garden and the Church of Monte, where the tomb of Charles of Habsburg, the last emperor of Austria, is located. You can also enjoy a ride in the famous basket car.
